Dr. de Villa has authored and co-authored at least 13 papers in scientific journals such as the PDA Journal, Philippine Journal of Orthodontics, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Annals of Plastic Surgery, Journal of the Taiwan Association of Orthodontists, Chang Gung Medical Journal. The topics include oral and maxillofacial trauma, oral pathology, orthognathic surgery and cleft lip and palate surgery.

Dr. de Villa has given oral and poster presentations during the Annual Conventions of the Philippine Dental Association since 1995 and at the International Workshop on Surgical Techniques in Cleft Lip and Palate, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in 2002 and 2004. She is also regularly invited to give lectures for the PDA-Dolfenal Scientific and Management Symposia given in different provinces in the Philippines. The topics include various aspects of oral pathology, oral and maxillofacial surgery and cleft lip and palate surgery.
