Anxiety

You cannot sleep, concentrate, work anymore because something is bothering you. Whatever is in your mind and heart, let it go. If you can’t do it, and it is affecting you so much, it is now a general anxiety disorder.

It is hard to move on in life if there is something at the back of your mind that you are thinking or always on guard of. As if you have an invisible enemy that anytime will attack you. That enemy is your anxiety or anxiety disorder.

The best thing to do is to analyze what happened, accept it, do your best to solve it and if everything has been done through the help of a psychologist, the last thing that you have to do in order to have peace of mind, heart and spirit is to offer it to God. Do your best and God will do the rest. Trust in God! Relax!

Obsession-Compulsion

Have you ever encounter a person who is always having repetitive irrational or illogical thoughts? a person who is always having repetitive irrational or illogical actions? This person always thinks and acts differently and yet nothing happens to him/her. An example of a repetitive irrational thought is, “I should have done that, if ever, I won in the competition.” The point is the competition is finished and you did not win. Accept the reality and stop thinking of what should have done. Just learn from your experience so that next time you know what to be done in order to win in the competition. This is obsession.

A person will always go to a mall and spend all his/her money on buying anything. Then, he/she will just put all of those things he/she bought and will not use it at all. This is compulsion.

This becomes an obsessive-compulsive disorder when it is affecting the person’s total activity which makes the person angry up to the extent of isolating his/her own self to the people.

If you know somebody like this, please refer this individual to a psychologist especially when he/she is affecting already the people around.

Panic

Why are there people spending a lot of money in consultation with their doctors of varied specializations and just knowing the diagnosis that they are negative of any kind of disease? And yet, inspite of the diagnosis they still experience difficulty in breathing, body tremors, stomach rumblings and other physical discomforts.

If the medical examinations are complete, meaning everything is checked in terms of physical pains for example and the doctors cleared the person of any disease, then there is only one obvious reason for this. The answer is the person is experiencing a psychological stress specifically known as panic, thus it affects the person very much, a panic disorder.

Why so? The person in this kind of disorder experienced a lot of stress due to varied factors since childhood up to the present time like trauma, anxiety, deep emotional problems, phobia, personal and relational issues which happened in the family, school, and present employment. These unresolved issues were repressed, denied, forgotten and never being processed by the person. These baggages or garbages piled up in the subconscious mind until a major event happened and triggered the brain to be out of control. Therefore, the brain can’t function anymore to its normal activity, that’s why the body reacts to it negatively and the person experienced panic.

Again, a psychologist is needed to treat a panic disorder to alleviate the sufferings of the person who thinks that he might die or be psychotic and run naked in public.

Depression

Many people now are depress due to varied reasons. But ,sad to say, a lot of people let themselves be affected of their depression, that’s why it becomes a disorder. When the depression affects the normal functioning of the person in a longer period of time, it is now a disorder. This means that the person cannot do the usual routine and activities in life. The depressive disorder blocks the regular schedule of the person which hinders his/her to move on in life.

The worst scenario that may happen to the depressed person if such depression will not be processed by a psychologist is that this person may either end up in the cemetery (suicide) or mental hospital (psychosis).

Depression could either be depressive disorder or manic-depressive disorder. Depressive disorder is when the person is just in deep loneliness and aloneness. While manic depressive disorder is having mood swings like too much loneliness and suddenly too much elateness (full of energy, happy) or also called bipolar disorder.

The bottom line here is don’t let yourself be affected of negative circumstances in life. Just accept the reality of the situation and look for a psychologist who can help you start all over again. Have a positive outlook in life and learn to relax in order to be happy.

We have only one life to live and we have to live this life to the fullest good. The best thing in life is when we realize that we are happy because we learn to forgive and love.
